it's sad that all you can find wrong is a wheel chock. by the picture i would say the odds of it rolling backwards (down grade) are just as good as foward. don't be jealous they are seeing fire and your knot....tee hee hee. I say good job all around for the guys on these fires and the 31st street.

I hear New E-2 is going to replace E-6. E-6 is going to replace old E-2,

Who cares we'll all get a new one eventually, then when they wear out we get another. It's an endless cycle and we have basically good equipment, with a very few exceptions (L13, L7, E10, E4, E14, and most of the medics)

Hey Rhett, I just love the way your Page has become a way for people to MONDAY MORNING QUARTERBACK calls. Usually I would not say anything but this is CRAZY, One thing I have learned is that S#@H happens on calls, and what works in training or on one given fire may not work on the next. Not to mention that if you were not even on the call how the Hell would you know what happened there by looking at six pictures? Why not ease up a little on here if you see a little mistake some one has made. Because one thing is for sure SOONER or LATER... everyone, myself included, makes mistakes, next time it might just be YOU!!! Gish

The page is what the readers make of it.

You are right Gish, everyone will mess up sooner or later.

This quarterbacking isn't anything new. It happens after every fire everywhere. Not everyone does it, but it always happens. Maybe just now it started onto the blog...or maybe it has been here for a while.

I am not saying I agree with it, just that I am aware of it.

Oh I can find more than than the wheel chock...I just thought that needed pointing out. See thats basic know how. Even the rookies know the first chock goes in front of the tire! If you have 2, then chock the rear. The truck is in DRIVE. The only thing holding it is the brake. Yea I know, "what if you're facing up a really steep hill?" Use your own judgement, if you cant make that decision, you shouldnt be driving. If you've ever seen one jump "out of pump" as we say, its not pretty. Its happend here in Roanoke. 1999 or 2000, Lincoln Terrace/Gandy live burn training, One city engine jumped (5 I think) into another and caused a lot of damage to both. There are some good pics floating around the city of the accident. Use your head...and your chock!!! JD

JD? Does that stand for John Denver? Yep, thats got to be it. Only John Denver herself would make a coment like this. And if she did it must be true, because she knows everything about everything. Just ask the world famous Wing Nut.

Calm down, you get all that training in Va. Beach and then come back to good old Roanoke.

Your right, like I said before, we all make mistakes!!! That was just one of many I have made. Gish Oh by the way if you have something to say, why not put your name on IT?

I would like to say the above comment is not mine, just in case anyone was wondering.
I enjoy constructive criticism and being picked on here and there.
