Station 3 will be sold
I got a call at the Union Hall on Wednesday from the Interactive Design Group. They are purchasing Fire Station #3 to be used as their offices. Unless something comes up, the deal will go through.
Apparently, the woman I spoke to is looking for the fire pole for the station. I told her that it is now the legs to the table at #1. So she was interested in finding another one from Roanoke. I told her that I would look around, but I doubt she would have any luck.
The plan is to restore the station and keep the open floor plan. They also plan on putting overhead doors in place of the current ones which replicate the original doors. That will be neat.
It is good to see that it won't be torn down.

Rhett, the fire pole we used for the kitchen table was left over from a remodeling job done years back. Building maintenance removed the poles after we moved out. I'm not sure where they are now.

Rhett. we used the pole that was to be used in the captains bed room but was never put in. the 2 poles were taken out of station 3 by the city a few weeks after we moved out.not sure where they are now, Todd
Thanks guys,
I will let her know. Maybe they are still around.
There was a pole in the hayloft at Mounted Patrol Headquarters Station 1.
Rhett, I know Bill who is part owner of interactive design. He has had this Idea for a while his office was originally in Grandin so he had always thought about #7 house. They will be a good tenant, He is an Architecht and appriciates the history and design of the old buildings. If you need more info on them let me know, he is a family firend from my marraige. Cheers
There was a ploe at #5 laying across the top of the gear lockers. It was the one they took out of the bunk room a couple of years back. Might call over there.
Knowing the city, they probably recycled the poles as scrap!!
The pole is probably at Happy's with the missing fire alarm boxes.
Try Hazelridge Rd at a former BC's house.. Ole' St Nic may have it
Thats true!! Nic might have it up in the corner of his basement for the strippers to dance on.
