Banned

Wait for it....wait for it...wait for it...

It will be positive, professional, and warranted.

For the other media outlets, THIS web site and RoanokeFirefighters.com have been banned on Roanoke City Computers in a fit of Censorship from the Roanoke Fire-EMS Chief.

I hope the news picks this up! I really do!

Rumor is that you will be punished by moving you to #11 with all the other troublemakers. You need some experience pumping.

Umm chief, guilty as charged for spending time looking at both of these sites at work. And uh, I also check my checking account balance a lot, so banning Suntrust.com would probably be a good idea, I know some of my buddies have Suntrust as well. Umm, also I have an email account on Yahoo.com, I check the hell outta my email, probably 15 times a day. You should probably ban Yahoo. Also, I Google a shit ton.

the beauty is that
-they said only 5% of the department is disgruntled.
-this is definately being read by them or something wouldn't have gotten under their skin to the point they need to ban it

Hello boys and girls,
Ghost here. I’ve been out of town and just caught up on my blog reading. Some of you have been very bad, and it seems Mr. Hoback takes exception to your rant. He seems to think it makes the department and management look bad. Hum, let’s see now; are the problems what make the department look bad? Or is it that you talk about it publicly on this blog? I’ve always said that they are in complete denial downtown. There are no problems here! OK, breaking news; I just got a phone call; Hoback blocked the blog from city computers. I’m sure they will say too many people are reading it on duty. They also blocked the Overacker site. Yup, his certainly is a damaging site. No doubt about it folks, it is censorship!
There are no problems, we are doing a good job, only about 5 people complain anyway. Seems the blog contradicts those statements. What’s the deal Hoback? Are you embarrassed that outsiders see how many problems we have? You should be more embarrassed that you are doing nothing to correct the problems. Censorship! What a concept. Discredit anyone that disagrees with you, punish them if possible and go to any length to cover it up! It would be less difficult to fix the problems. To even acknowledge the problems would be a start. An attempt to correct things would get everyone’s attention. Oh, but there aren’t any problems.
Well you can’t block it from our homes or from other businesses where people read it. You are known by your actions and inaction.
One other thing; G, H and T…
how can you sleep at night?

I think I know why Overacker's site got blocked. He shows the pictures he takes. Look at Hickory Woods. The lack of sleeves is front and center. Oh, but let a man walk around without his shirt tucked in at #1 (during a workout) and he gets written up. '

Yall really think Rhett will go to #11? I think ARFF would hurt him more.

Rhett, you are in good company, the City also banned (blocked) Disney.com!

Go figure

The only thing that comes to my mind is " Mickey Mouse"

Anonymous said...

The Disney site was blocked because of offensive material. Mickey divorved Minnie because she was fuckin' Goofy

Why would you check your email that many times a day?? E-Harmony sending you that much stuff? Or do you use match.com?

Anonymous said...

yall see ho's email? overacker's site "was block by mistake" didn't say anything bout Rhett's

Anonymous said...

Well aint that a kick in the balls.
Fuck em'! They cant block shit from my home and they damn sure cant hide from all the problems in the city, no matter how hard they try and what they block on the computers. Yall know we went from buying 4 trucks to 1?? I wish they'd block Moodle :)

Brothers we are with you, this site is linked from Firefighter Hourly. The ban is national news! Not a smart move on behalf of your Chief and City.
Blogs like this are only the beginning of a new generation in communication.
Chief Hoback take heed of what happened to Ole Rusty down in Charleston. The spotlight is now on you and it will not go out!
Stay safe, captjack
