Fire on Rorrer Avenue

Engine 9 was first in on this house fire on Rorrer Avenue. C shift responded to find fire blowing out of 4 sides of the attic. An aggressive interior attack on the fire brought the fire under control quickly. No injuries were reported.

Wow, good pics and a good stop. Interior attack huh? Kinda risky on a vacant building in my oponion, but hey....we're "cityots" arent we? At least thats what the county calls us...say we're too reckless and dangerous. Good thing that house wasnt in North Lakes huh?

Hey nice pics there in the attic. No use for the pike poles since there is no roof or ceiling left. Group hugz now. Get your faces out of the ash and clean up a lil before photo op. time. No need for artificial light the sun is up in the backround.

you dumb A$$. All this stuff going on with city council right now and the budget cut and the loss of manpower and all you seem to be worried about is bashing C-Shift grow the hell up man no wonder the union is so weak and no one comes out to meetings. everyones worried about bashin everyone else rather than working together. we got way to much other stuff to be worried about. looked like a pretty damn good stop to me!!

hell of a job guys. Dont get use to having four on the engine though. Get use to working w/ less, since it seems it might be a little longer for our help to get there w/ all the budget cuts.

Sorry I could not make it to this fire. I was out of town. Any stop with that much fire showing is a good stop. Good work.

Good stop. Some may refer as too risky for a vacant building. I wasn't there, but apparently the incident commanders made the correct cost-benefit decision. This structure has the potential to remain on the tax rolls. (If the Commissioner of Revenue decides to collect the taxes on it.) Maybe this type of incident can help justify our existance without manpower reductions.

Good stop. Not sure if that should have been an interior attack though. Vacant house, nothing in it....smarter choice would have been to do a quick search and let it burn.
Nice job though. Solid work.

That house has had a small fire before, about 3 years ago. Burned a hole in the floor on the first floor.

Origional info said that homeless people were staying in the structure, so lines were advanced while the building was searched. The crews inside did a hell of a job getting that thing under control.

How did 9 get there before 1 or 7 or 5

thats part of 9's new territory. they're getting used to running everywhere. there's only gonna be 4 firetrucks & 2 ladders in 5 years anyway
