Ladder 13...the busiest?

I bet you that right now, Ladder 13 is the busiest truck in the City. Maybe not for calls run in its first due, but all together.

Most recently, it was on the Ferdinand Fire. First in as a matter of fact. So what if Ladder 7's crew was on it.

It was also on the Summer Tree Apartment fire. A little out of the first due of Station 13. 7's crew was on it that day too.

It is kinda like that joke. You know the one with the punchline...Everyone gets a turn on her. No wonder when we get Ladder 13 back to Station 13 she is broke.

On the other hand. Ladder 7 ran 31 calls the other day during the wind storm. That is a couple more than normal. I am not sure, but they might have been riding Ladder 13 actually.

...Anyways, I have a good story for you guys soon. It is a historic story. One that takes the blog back to its grassroots. That is right, one that should shake your core. One that many may not know about. So stay tuned for that soon.

31 calls, now that sounds like fun....ONCE.

Stay Safe.

Everyone loves to talk about ol' #7. "It's a retirement station." "It's slow." Here's the deal, yall keep on thinkin' that, and we'll keep catchin' the workin' fires. Peace.

Sundy's volume was around 250 calls. Everyone did a great job!

I can remember back in the day when every company ran 250 calls every day. Those were the good ol' days.

I don't think that the administration fully realized the total impact that the Quint 7 deal would have our service delivery system. As evidenced by the significant increase in the number of runs that Ladder 13 has picked up. I am sure that Ladder 1 has seen an increase as well. Many of these runs are all the way across town. Something that really concerns me is that when "Quint" 7 is dispatched for a commercial response to it's first or second due areas, it is to function as an engine. This requires the dispatch of 2 other ladders to fill out the commercial alarm assignment. We have then committed 3/4's of our city wide ladder capabilities to a single alarm. If one of the ladder companies is out on another incident or training, then our city wide ladder coverage is totaly depleted. Let alone that another alarm be recieved. It is my opinion that this is short sighted, and a bit of a crap shoot. Craig Sellers.

well you know how we can fix that craig. put a fan on every eng and make it a ladder. It seems as of late that is all you need. Ladder two and one have been using the HTR truck with a fan as their ladder truck when more than one ladder is in for repairs. And if ladder 13 and 7 are in for repairs 7 is to get an eng with a fan. Maybe downtown should listen to the guys who do the job.

13 is the busiest....because they stay in serivce more that any other Ladder. They're not spending half the day on SATURDAY along with half the other city pumping the First Union Tower full of water!! Guess thats justification for E5 & B1 and god knows who else to go out and eat @ Golden Coral at Crossroads afterwards? They can get away with murder. Anyone else would have their ass handed to them. Stay in you territory and run your calls.
