Benefit Book Signing for Injured Firefighter Kevin Jamerson

On April 28th there will be a benefit book signing for Kevin Jamerson at First Due: Fire/EMS Gear at 1 pm. Read more about the event here.
Left to right; Rhett Fleitz, Natasha Ryan, and Kevin Jamerson
The more important thing is that Kevin, Sarah Fuhrman, and I were interviewed by Natasha Ryan of News Channel 7. Check out the story and video here. Funny story: Natasha asked me to spell my first and last name when we first went on camera. I blanked out. It was hilarious. She had to ask me again.
I am not sure she was interested in me or the book at all.
Here I am getting set for sound

All that and they only used about 5 seconds of it. Not a big deal though. Thanks to Sarah Fuhrman for the pictures. The event is being sponsored by First Due: Fire/EMS Gear.

Nice story and nice job Rhett. Watching the video, did they have a "make shift" pole set up or something that is commercially available in that station? Wonder what OSHA's take is on that?

Actually they had a built in platform leading from the door to the pole. The whole set up was built when the station was built which I think was several years ago. I still think the construction is being investigated.

How many poles are left in the city stations and are they even used? Do the two county stations (2 and 3) still have theirs?

Station 1, 2, 3, 8, and 9 have them and still use them. 5 and 7 might but I am not sure right off. The new headquarters station will have 2 poles. Stations 4,6, 10, 11, 13, and 14 are all single floor stations.

5 and 7 have one pole each.

Well did you raise any money for the guy?

The event is on April 28th at First Due Fire/EMS Gear. The books retail for $19.99. It is my understanding that almost $10 per book will be going to Kevin Jamerson. However, I am only there to sign the books. All of the books are furnished by First Due and they will be selling the books and giving the profit to Kevin.
