IAFF Media Awards
The IAFF Media Awards were published today and Local1132.org received second place for the Affiliate website award. RoanokeFire.com got a little mention as well. It is good to see all the hard work on the website paying off. The awards for Affiliate website were as follows:

What did 1132 win for? Your site or something published or what?
Local 1132 recieved the award for Best Affiliate website as a whole. My blog was mentioned in the description as being a feature, although that was not submitted by us. This blog is unofficial to any other organization or department or site. Some of the staff at IAFF know about this blog and read it regularly. I have spoken to them in the past. I guess they took it upon themselves to incorporate the information about the blog since I am the webmaster of Local1132.org or because it is a decent site that pertains to the IAFF indirectly. My site could not have won becuase it is not an affiliate site. Maybe in the future they will add an award for that though.
Congrats heidi, you deserve it, you do alot of work that very few people evan know about or apprciate. Keep up the good work. You hlep all of us out with your websites.
