Original Post below:
Scott Graham and Scott Mutter are currently seeking firefighters and others to assist in renovating Officer Bryan Lawrence's house. They had the recruit class out on Monday to do part of their building construction/destruction class. I understand they did one hell of a job. Scott Graham wrote an email which reads:
Hello Everyone, I am sending another email requesting help to renovate officer Brian Lawrence's house. We made great progress on the first day and we still need help especially if your on C-shift since Captain Mutter and myself are on C-Shift. We are working toward other days but for now we cannot do that. Please email or call my cell phone if you can help. The sooner the better. Thanks Scott Graham.
I believe that most of the days being worked are on A and B shift days currently. Please contact either Graham (1C) or Mutter (6C) if you would like to help. I remember almost 40 of us came out to help with the habitat for humanity houses after the hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico a couple years ago. This is a great way to give back to the community as well as showing the community at what great lengths we go to take care of each other. If you can't get a hold of either Graham or Mutter, send me an email, page, or phone call and I will get you in contact with them.

Thanks and God Bless

I am sure glad to see we are helping. But why should we be helping another dept in the city when we cant even take are of our own. Think about it.

Please let me know who needs help that we are not helping currently. I will be sure to try to do something about it. I cannot think of anyone in this situation, but I do not know everything there is to know.

Thanks

Anonymous, are you f*#@ing serious! First off I hope you never end up in the situation that this officer and his family are in because kharma will bite you in the ass. Second, it is not helping another "department" it is helping a man and his family in need. That is one of the most morally horrible statement I have ever heard. I am ashamed to call you a brother!

I woulgn't call him a brother. He is a selfish idiot who can think of no one but them selves and that it will come back to haunt him in the long run

WOW! I can't believe someone would make a comment such as that. This man has had something horrible happen to him all because he was trying to do the right thing. Do you think for one second that this man thought about what if while he was chasing those low lifes down? NO! He went to the call of duty just as we do day in and day out. I would certainly hope that someone would come to my assistance if I was in that condition. We should be here for each other police or fire. We should have each others back in the time of need. No reason we can't be there to help a fellow man/brother up and assist him with a better life in a time of need such as this. My hats are off to Graham and Mutter any of those assisting. I just don't understand that first post!!!!

Well, if you re-read the first line I stated "I am sure glad to see we are helping" - that was not feciscious in any way. I truely am glad that we can help out - but we need to keep in mind the members (brothers) in our dept that are either fighting for their jobs or even to lead a normal life.

I spoke to one of Fichtners friends and they said the kid cant even move around the house - why arent we helping him?

To the one who talked about Kharma and the other who said a tragic thing happened - case in point.

I am not bad mouthing us for helping by any means. I just think we also need to take care of our own. Now - have a good day.

I have no problem at all with helping our own. I am also for helping our own first if that is the case. If we have a brother down and is in need of assistance then someone needs to bring this to our attention. This friend of Fitchner's needs to come forward with some suggestions, ideas, or just some basic information on what he needs and I'm sure we will step up to help a brother out. But I can't and I'm sure others can't help if they don't know anything about the situation. Tell that person to get with Rhett or Rodney and get the information out so we can help.

It is ill-manners to silence a fool and cruelty to let him go on.

your head is big and retarded.

no, what you said was "when we cant even take care of our own" therein making the statement..also, it's spelled facetious; the definition of that word is "joking about something serious"... you obviously weren't joking becaue that is followed by "think about it".
you simply have no shame, but you should be. I am ashamed that it is visible for all to see, you are a poor representation of us...

Richard Saunders a.k.a. Ben Franklin
In 1733, Franklin began to publish the famous Poor Richard's Almanack (with content both original and borrowed) under the pseudonym Richard Saunders, on which much of his popular reputation is based. Franklin frequently wrote under pseudonyms. Although it was no secret that Franklin was the author, his Richard Saunders character repeatedly denied it. "Poor Richard's Proverbs," adages from this almanac, such as "A penny saved is twopence dear" (often misquoted as "A penny saved is a penny earned"), "Fish and visitors stink in three days" remain common quotations in the modern world. Wisdom in folk society meant the ability to provide an apt adage for any occasion, and Franklin's readers became well prepared. He sold about ten thousand copies per year (a circulation equivalent to nearly three million today).[
