Dennis Duncan Leaves the Fire Department

Recruit Class 15 dwindles as Dennis Duncan leaves the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department to go to PA school. Dennis began as a part-time medic at EMS-1 before he was hired on full time as a Firefighter/Paramedic with the Roanoke Fire-EMS Dept. in 1999. Dennis attended Recruit Class 15 which was held at the Jefferson Center with yours truly. We wish Dennis and his family the best with his new endeavors.

Rhett Fleitz is a Lieutenant with the Roanoke Fire-EMS Department in the City of Roanoke, Virginia. He is the Secretary/Treasurer of the Roanoke Fire Fighters Association IAFF Local #1132. Rhett is currently continuing historical research and data collection after the Late Captain Wiseman. In 2006, he completed his first book, "Firefighting in Roanoke", a pictorial look at the history of the Fire Service in the City of Roanoke.
